Chagas disease in humans has been described in limited geographic areas in the Amazon region, especially northeastern Pará state and southeastern Amapá state, related to sylvatic and port areas or areas that have experienced rapid urbanization and increased population density in the last 10 years (4,(25)(26)(27)(28)(29).
