Abstract: RESUMO: Entende-se o cuidado de si como pré-requisito e condição necessária ao cuidado do outro, de modo que este cuidado prestado não implique em re núncia e mortificação de quem cuida ou de quem é cuidado. Objetiva-se verificar como o trabalho das enfermeiras, que atuam em hospitais têm se constituído, ou não, em meio e instrumento para o cuidado de si, assim como, para o cuidado dos clientes.
