Dificuldades para o estabelecimento da amamentação: o papel das práticas assistenciais das maternidades

Abstract: Muitos avanços ocorreram nas últimas três décadas no tocante à pratica do aleitamento materno no Brasil. A comparação entre duas pesquisas nacionais, realizadas nas décadas de 70 e 80, mostrou que a duração mediana do aleitamento materno, que era de apenas 2,5 meses em 1975, passou a 5,5 meses em 1989 1.
