This article scrutinizes the evolution of Brazilian thought on electricity policy from 1945 to 1964, focusing on the topics of planning of electricity supply expansion, the FDI vs. state ownership conundrum, and the relationship between electricity supply growth and inflation. The economic debate comprised two main concurring camps during this period, one monetarist/orthodox and another developmentalist/structuralist. This bipartisan division was also present in the electricity policy debate. It is argued that while there was some degree of convergence between the two camps regarding the issue of planning, in the other two core topics of the debate, divergence was the tonic. However, despite the marked division in the economic epistemic community regarding electricity policy, political and economic conditions favored policy experimentation with a pragmatic policy stance that combined features from states and markets- which combined ideas from both camps-, even after the 1964 coup, when the debate had been mostly neutralized.

Se educar é introduzir e só se introduz um outro na realidade, quando se lhe comunica o significado, só pode realizar essa tarefa de educar quem, por sua vez, foi introduzido na realidade, com o fim de descobrir o seu significado. Por isso quanto mais os pais vivem com verdade e plenitude a sua vocação, o seu relacionamento com a consciência de ser chamado pelo Ser, tanto mais são capazes de desenvolver a sua tarefa de genitores, que não é apenas colocar os filhos no mundo, mas dar-lhes o significado. Por isso é na educação dos filhos, na comunicação desse significado, que os pais realizam sua paternidade. É aí que se torna evidente que são pais, porque, juntamente com a vida, comunicam ao filho o seu significado. Mas esta comunicação não é uma transmissão abstrata de conteúdos, não é a entrega de instruções para o uso, mas o testemunho daquilo que pode ser a vida vivida na sua plenitude. Por isso a importância da vida dos genitores, do empenho para viver o seu relacionamento a fim de descobrir o significado, para a educação dos filhos. Eles, com a sua vida, gritam diante do filho a razão pela qual vale a pena nascer .

In Brazil, the decolonial turn has prompted a discursive reconfiguration of art museums over the last decade, primarily through exhibitions driven by critical and reparative thinking. Consequently, alternative perspectives have emerged, aiming to propose exhibition narratives rooted in marginalized knowledge and imaginaries. Focusing on the Museu de Arte do Rio (Rio Museum of Art) as a privileged place of thought, this article delves into the curatorial methodologies employed for two exhibitions: Mulheres na Coleção MAR and Casa Carioca. These exhibitions have paved the way for another way of being a museum, holistically committed to its decolonization. While the sustainability of the changes brought about by these exhibitions may be questioned, it is recognized to acknowledge their role in collaborating to establish other interpretative frameworks for understanding local realities, defining as the primary beneficiaries of this process, not the museums themselves but the communities and individuals who grapple with the daily impacts of coloniality.
