Show more

“…Similar results, with a positive response to the application of nitrogen fertilizers, have been observed: Apuleia leiocarpa (Nicoloso et al, 2001), Eremanthus erythropappus (Venturin et al, 2005), Dalbergia nigra (Marques et al, 2006b), Samanea inopinata (Cruz et al, 2006), Piptadenia gonoacantha (Marques et al, 2009), Swietenia macrophylla (Tucci et al, 2009), Mimosa caesalpiniaefolia (Gonçalves et al, 2010), Astronium fraxinifolium (Feitosa et al, 2011), Calophyllum brasiliense (Ciriello et al, 2014), Tabebuia serratifolia (Goulart et al, 2016), Schizolobium amazonicum (Carvalho et al, 2016).…”

“…There was no significant difference in the treatments within and between the two soil textural classes in variables AP, SC and TC (Table 5). However, the values obtained in this experiment are similar to those obtained by Macedo et al (2011) in ipê-roxo (Handroanthus impetiginosus) seedlings with different substrates and shadings and to those obtained by Goulart et al (2017) when testing doses and nitrogenated sources in the production of ipê-amarelo seedlings. LAP is an excellent parameter to measure the quality of forest species seedlings, above all because it is easy and quick to measure and non-destructive.…”

“…The ipê-amarelo is propagated mainly by seminal route. Thus, as a result of the difficulties in germinating the seeds and the growing demand for good quality seedlings, it is necessary to formulate substrates that will promote the emergence, growth and quality of the seedlings (Goulart et al, 2017). Differently from plants cultivated for commercial purposes, there is little information regarding the germinative potential, development of native arboreal species seedlings and also about the composition of substrates (Afonso et al, 2012).…”

“…Nitrogen (N) is outstanding among the nutrients, once it is required in larger quantities by most crops (Marques et al, 2006). In forest species, Goulart et al (2017) studied Tabebuia serrafolia (Vahl) G. Nichols seedlings 125 days after transplant and verified positive responses in seedling growth in height, stem diameter, canopy dry matter and root dry matter up to the level of 100 mg dm -3 . Ciriello et al (2014) reported bigger growth in Calophyllum brasiliense Cambèss plants with the level of 40 mg dm -3 N at 10 months of age.…”
