Objetivo: analisar a vivência da espiritualidade em mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama. Método: trata-se de estudo qualitativo, do tipo descritivo, com oito mulheres, por meio de entrevistas abertas, gravadas, transcritas na íntegra e analisadas conforme a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo na modalidade Análise Categorial. Resultados: verificou-se nas falas das mulheres expressões da espiritualidade, a presença do medo e da tristeza sobre o diagnóstico, gerando preocupações e dúvidas, mas a presença da fé no Divino como forma de mostrar seu apreço e reconhecimento da ação Dele no curso da doença, traz a esperança de cura em conjunto com a presença da família, sendo estas estratégias utilizadas pelas mulheres para o enfrentamento do câncer. Conclusão: conclui-se que as mulheres utilizam a espiritualidade como estratégia de enfrentamento durante sua vivência com o diagnóstico e o tratamento do câncer de mama. Results: the women’s speeches evidenced expressions of spirituality, presence of fear and sadness about the diagnosis, generating concerns and doubts, but the presence of the faith in the Divine as a way to show their appreciation and recognition of His action in the course of the disease brings the hope of healing in conjunction with the presence of the family, being these strategies used by women to cope with cancer. Conclusion: women use spirituality as a coping strategy during their experience with the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Resultados: se encontró en los discursos de las mujeres expresiones de espiritualidad, la presencia del miedo y la tristeza acerca del diagnóstico, generando inquietudes y dudas, pero la presencia de la fe en la Divinidad, como una manera de mostrar su agradecimiento y reconocimiento de su acción en el curso de la enfermedad, trae la esperanza de curación en conjunción con la presencia de la familia, siendo estas estrategias utilizadas por las mujeres para lidiar con el cáncer. Conclusión: se concluye que las mujeres usan la espiritualidad como una estrategia de subsistencia durante su experiencia en el diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer de mama. Resumo: O objetivo deste estudo foi descrever as estratégias de atendimento psicológico utilizadas com pacientes estomizados e seus familiares em uma unidade de internação hospitalar de uma universidade pública do interior paulista no pré-operatório e na preparação para a alta hospitalar. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório-descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, que focaliza um programa de extensão que oferece cuidados, com enfoque interdisciplinar, para essa população. As observações extraídas das intervenções psicológicas foram registradas em diário de campo e os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo e interpretados à luz de pressupostos teóricos da Psicologia da Saúde. Identificou-se nos relatos que a assistência psicológica contempla as seguintes estratégias: levantamento da história clínica, identificação das necessidades psicológicas do paciente no pré-cirúrgico, reuniões com a equipe para discussão dos casos e elaboração do plano de cuidados terapêuticos, orientação aos familiares, escuta psicológica junto ao leito, orientações ao paciente e avaliação de seu estado psicológico, tendo em vista o preparo para alta hospitalar. O atendimento psicológico tem possibilitado o acolhimento dos pacientes, tendo como foco as necessidades identificadas durante o período de internação hospitalar decorrentes da intervenção cirúrgica e da estomização. O suporte psicológico tem contribuído para fortalecer a autonomia e minimizar o sofrimento associado à cirurgia e suas consequências, frente às limitações impostas pelo adoecimento crônico intestinal, além de possibilitar o atendimento articulado com a equipe cirúrgica e de enfermagem, assegurando assistência continuada ao paciente com foco no desenvolvimento de competências de autocuidado.Abstract: This aim of this study was to describe the psychological care strategies used with stomized patients and their relatives in a hospital inpatient unit of a public university of the Brazil's largest public university in the preoperative period and preparation for the hospital discharge. This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach that focuses on an extension program that offers interdisciplinary care for this population. Psychological interventions were recorded in a field diary and data were submitted to content analysis and interpreted in the perspective of theoretical assumptions of Health Psychology. Psychological assistance includes the following strategies: clinical history survey, identification of psychological needs of the patient in the pre-surgical period, meetings with the health team providers to discuss the cases in order to elaborate the therapeutic plan, orientation to family, psychological and qualified listening in the bed, orientation to the patient and evaluation of his/her psychological state, with a view to preparing him for discharge. Objective: To understand the relationship between caregivers and patients who are undergoing the process of finitude with the environment where they are during this process. Method: This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive research. According to the saturation criterion, there were 19 participants: 10 patients (5 in palliative care at home and 5 in curative care in Intensive Care Units -ICU) and 9 relatives of the respective patients. They responded to a narrative interview, which is characterized as an instrument that makes it possible to understand how the participant perceives and experiences the environment around her/him. For the analysis of the material, the interview was interpreted through textual analysis using the Iramuteq software. Results: The results indicated great adversities in the process of finitude in both environments: ICU and home; however, the family environment is seen as promoting quality of life and of death with dignity by patients, due to the support network offered by family and friends. Conclusion: the person-environment relationship in the process of finitude is characterized by affections and meanings, and needs to be taken into account as a facilitator of quality of life. Método: fue un acercamiento exploratorio y descriptivo, cualitativo. Los criterios de saturación incluyeron 19 participantes: 10 pacientes (5 en cuidados paliativos en cuidados domiciliarios y 5 en cuidados curativos en la UCI) y 9 familiares de los pacientes respectivos. Respondieron a un instrumento, la entrevista narrativa, que se caracteriza por ser un instrumento que permite comprender cómo el participante percibe y experimenta el entorno que lo rodea. Para el análisis del material, la entrevista se entendió a través del análisis textual en el software Iramuteq. Resultados: los resultados indicaron grandes adversidades en el proceso de finitud ARTÍCULOS Alves da Costa M., et al. Psicooncología 2020; 17(1): 131-148 132 en ambos entornos: UCI y hogar; sin embargo, se considera que el entorno familiar promueve la calidad de vida y de la muerte con dignidadla de los pacientes, debido a la red de apoyo que ofrecen familiares y amigos. Conclusión: la relación persona-ambiente en el proceso de finitud se caracteriza por afectos y significados, y debe tomarse en cuenta como facilitador de la calidad de vida.
