Show more

“…ASPA is composed of open-field procedures and procedures performed with sound instruments, which include sound localization and temporal ordering skills (memory of verbal and non-verbal sounds in sequence). It has advantages for use in schools, especially for being quick, using simple instruments and being easily accessible and low cost, in addition to being regarded as a sensitive predictor of auditory processing abnormalities (9) . Abnormalities in ASPA feature variations from 23.85% to 44%, with worse performance in younger children (10)(11)(12) .…”

“…The Denver II Development Screening Test 15 is a widely used test, because it has good validity and reliability, it is easy and quick to apply, with low cost and allows easy training, being used in both research and clinical practice, as well as the Simplified Auditory Processing Trial (ASPA). This test is also widely used in literature because it is easy to apply and indicates a possible alteration of the auditory function 20,21 . It should be noted that, in both cases, since they are tests with altered responses, a specific evaluation is required to confirm or refute the "problems" detected.…”

“…SECAP is a screening instrument for central auditory processing, it is easy and quick to use and widely used in children (18) . Its use is very restricted in adults and elderly (19) , with a study related to vocal (20) deafness and no record of application in adults with UHL.…”
