It was our objective to compare the physical activity, fatigue and quality of life of patients during breast cancer treatment and to investigate the association between these variables. Participated in this study 122 women in clinical treatment at the Cancer Research Center (CEPON) in Florianópolis, SC. We used a questionnaire with general information, physical activity (IPAQ - short), fatigue (Piper fatigue) and quality of life (EORTC QLQ - C30). One-way ANOVA with Scheffe's post-hoc, Chi-square, and univariate and multiple linear regression (p <0.05) were used. It was observed a greater walking time and total physical activity for the patients in the hormone therapy. In the fatigue, worse scores were presented by the patients in the chemotherapy. In the quality of life, there was a difference in the symptomatic scale, with worse scores on the subscales of nausea and vomiting, pain and loss of appetite for patients on chemotherapy and constipation for radiotherapy. It was identified an association between the increase of the physical activity with the improvement of the physical, social function and symptoms of the fatigue, regardless of the type of treatment or age. Patients in the hormone therapy practiced more physical activity, and those in chemotherapy had worse side effects. It is necessary to encourage physical activity during treatment, since benefits in quality of life and fatigue are evidenced.

Define-se o câncer como uma doença oriunda de inúmeras origens crônicas, consequentemente ocasionando o crescimento anormal das células. A segunda neoplasia mais comum e que apresenta o mais alto nível de mortalidade entre os homens do mundo é o câncer de próstata. Entre as formas de tratamento para o câncer de próstata, destaca-se a quimioterapia, que pode provocar diversos efeitos colaterais no indivíduo. Este estudo tem como objetivo discutir as intervenções de enfermagem diante das principais reações adversas da quimioterapia no câncer de próstata. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura. O docetaxel é um fármaco da família dos taxanos; considerado a primeira opção para o tratamento quimioterápico de câncer de próstata, ele provoca efeitos adversos, como artralgia e mialgia, náuseas, vômitos, inflamação da mucosa oral. Cabazitaxel é um taxanosemi-sintético utilizado para tratar neoplasias resistentes ao docetaxel, apresenta como eventos adversos a neutropenia, diarreia. A estramustina, após sua absorção pelo trato gastrointestinal, é metabolizada em estradiol e em estrona, que conseguem adentrar as células tumorais da próstata de maneira seletiva, apresentando como efeitos adversos o aumento da formação de coágulos sanguíneos, náuseas e vômito. A mitoxantrona é utilizada devido a seus benefícios paliativos, e tem como efeitos colaterais o desconforto gastrointestinal, febre, dor, mielossupressão. Os enfermeiros oncologistas devem conhecer os quimioterápicos utilizados durante o tratamento e os efeitos causados por estes, para prestar um cuidado de qualidade a esses pacientes.
