Introduction: The National Curricular Guidelines (NCG) for medical school bring the teaching of Humanities, among them Literature, as a way to overcome the biomedical model. Literature can strengthen compassion directed to the ‘other’. It starts with a curriculum organized by active teaching-learning methodologies. Objective: This study aims to understand the experiences of students from a Medical School in the interior of São Paulo who had contact with literary texts in the beginning of medical school, creating a representative model based on the experience. Method: This is a qualitative research guided by the Grounded Theory. The data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with undergraduate students who were randomly chosen from all years of the Medical School. The only inclusion criteria was the participation in groups coordinated by a teacher who had used literature as a teaching strategy. Twelve interviews were carried out, transcribed and codified. The sampling was performed by theoretical saturation. Results: The created categories were: 1. “Identifying the importance of the literature and Arts in Medical School, seeking a rupture from the biomedical model, while improving empathy and the humanization of care”; 2. “Reflecting on the use of artistic tools to learn practical contents in Medicine and to provide psychosocial knowledge”; 3. “Proposing a possible curricular systematization, considering active methodologies and other artistic forms”; 4. “Recalling the tales that are more often associated to the student’s personal interest, which can promote the integration with all the acquired knowledge”. Based on these categories, it was possible to create the representative model of the experience that relays the students’ satisfaction with literature in medical education, enhancing the humanization of care; however, there is a need for curriculum homogenization, aiming at organizing the activity and the learning opportunity for others students. Conclusion: The model comprises the idea that literature enhances the humanization of care and is able to establish a rupture from the biomedical model. The study potential lies in proposing strategies to the community and academic management, aiming to strengthen humanization in curricular perspective of medical training.

Resumo Introdução: Discutimos o Potencial Estético-Formativo da Literatura para uma Crítica Estética da tecnologia em seus diversos âmbitos entre estudante dos cursos superiores em Tecnologia em Saúde da UNIFESP. Objetivos: Verificar o potencial estético da literatura para pensar a tecnologia. Metodologia: Leitura de clássicos da literatura universal por meio da Metodologia do Laboratório de Humanidades e Tecnologia, atividade complementar oferecida aos estudantes dos cursos de tecnologia em saúde da UNIFESP. Para coleta dos dados usamos da Observação Participante e História Oral de Vida. Análise fundamentada na Fenomenologia Hermenêutica. Resultados: Com base em uma compreensão Estética da formação da Racionalidade humana, nossa atividade parece ser capaz de promover a análise crítica da tecnologia sob diversos âmbitos, tanto conceituais quanto para uma prática social e produtiva. Conclusão: Sugerimos a metodologia do LabHumTec como meio de possibilitar uma formação estética e humanística para produção e inovação tecnológica.

RESUMO Este artigo é baseado na dissertação do curso de Mestrado Profissional em Ensino em Saúde realizado pelo primeiro autor na Universidade José do Rosário Vellano – Unifenas e cujo título é “Ações para a retomada do ensino da humanização nas escolas de Medicina: uma revisão sistemática da literatura, 2010-2016”. O artigo apresenta os resultados da pesquisa, que efetuou uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a retomada da humanização nas escolas de Medicina. A desumanização da medicina tem sido atribuída, em grande parte, às escolas de Medicina, que privilegiam aspectos científicos em detrimento daqueles teóricos e voltados ao humanismo. As escolas de Medicina se viram impelidas a rever seus currículos, retomando disciplinas e organizando intervenções para a retomada do humanismo na prática médica. O objetivo geral da dissertação foi identificar as ações propostas ou desenvolvidas nos cursos de Medicina para a retomada da humanização na prática médica. Os objetivos específicos foram evidenciar os principais atributos do humanismo e descrever as principais intervenções educacionais adotadas para o desenvolvimento do humanismo na prática médica. Para atingir esses objetivos, foi realizada uma revisão sistemática de literatura, mediante pesquisa nas bases de dados da Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde e PubMed, no período de 2010 a 2016, nos idiomas português e inglês. A pesquisa resultou na seleção de 23 publicações. Os resultados mostraram que o principal atributo do humanismo é a empatia, que as escolas de Medicina estão desenvolvendo como principais ações as alterações no currículo dos cursos e que as principais ações educacionais implementadas envolvem alterações curriculares, intercâmbios e programas de extensão, mediante a inclusão de novas disciplinas, uso de atividades lúdicas e atuação em contextos culturais distintos dos de origem dos estudantes. Concluiu-se que a abrangência das medidas ainda é pequena, considerando-se o universo dos cursos de Medicina, e que seus resultados carecem de análise mais objetiva.
