Average direct costs of outpatient, hospital, and home care provided to patients with chronic wounds

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the average direct costs of outpatient, hospital, and home care provided to patients with chronic wounds. Method: Quantitative, exploratory-descriptive case study, carried out in a Comprehensive Wound Care Unit. Costs were obtained by multiplying the time spent by professionals by the unit cost of labor in the respective category, adding to the costs of materials and topical therapies.
