Ultraestrutura de Protozoários parasitas de Peixes da região Amazônica

Abstract: RESUMO -Neste trabalho descrevemos alguns detalhes ultraestruturais de novas espécies de protoparasitas do phylum Myxozoa (Henneguya adherens, Η. malabarica, Η. striolata, Η. testicularis, Tetrauronema desaequalis and Myxobolus braziliensis), recentemente encontrados e descritos em peixes da bacia amazônica. São descritos os aspectos ultraestruturais do ciclo de vida dos parasitas, incluindo o esporo, vetor biológico responsável pela transmissão do parasita. Por outro lado, é analizada a ação do parasita no ho… Show more

“…For light microscopy, small fragments (0.5 cm) of the fixed tissue were embedded in paraffin (Luna, 1968), from which 5 μm sections were obtained and stained with haematoxylin-eosin (HE) and Masson (Matos, Casal, Matos, Corral, & Azevedo, 2004), and then photographed in a Zeiss Primo Star microscope fitted with an AxioCam ERc 5s camera and AxioVision 5.1 software to obtain morphometric measurements.…”

“…On the other hand, it reduces the possibility of correct identification of developmental stages of spores (Manrique et al 2013). Ultrastructural identification has been used to establish the similarities among the species (Matos et al 1999;Abdel-Ghaffar et al 2005) but comparatively few studies consider the histopathology to complement the myxozoan diagnosis and host consequences (Martins et al 1997;Ali et al 2002;Adriano et al 2005Adriano et al , 2006Adriano et al , 2009Campos et al 2011).…”
