Additions to the Rapateaceae

Abstract

New taxa In the Rapateaceae are described herein: Spathantheae, Ceph-alostemoneae, Stegolepis piresii, Ku nhardtia radlata, Rapatea rugulosa, Rapated ulel var. lati folia, and Rapatea ulei var. lati folia forma multlcapltata.

Rapateaceae in the state of Pará, Brazil

“…All Rapateaceae specimens (from Pará) at the herbaria MG, IAN, INPA, RB, MO, NY and P were studied; images of specimens at MO, NY and P were studied online, and species determinations were made after consulting the literature (Maguire 1958;1962;1965;1979;Berry 2004;Forzza & Costa 2005) and websites that have protologues and images of types Tropicos (2015), WCSP (2015) and Ithaka (2015). Some characters mentioned in protologues were not observed in the examined exsiccatae.…”

Generic additions to the Rapateaceae of Rondônia, Brazil

“…However, even though floristic works for Rapateaceae are available for Venezuela, Colombia and the Guianas (Maguire 1958;1965;1982;Boom 1997;Berry 2004;2008;Funk et al 2007;Aymard and Arellano-Peña 2016;Rodrigues and Flores 2017), studies in adjacent areas in Brazil are relatively scarce (Maguire 1979;Forzza and Costa 2005;Rodrigues and Flores 2010;Rodrigues 2015;Barbosa-Silva et al 2016;Praia et al 2016). The knowledge about the biodiversity of the state of Rondônia is still incomplete (Carleial and Bigio 2014), including its rapateacean flora.…”
