The hydrographic basin of Arroio Marreco (Paraná State) concentrates a productive chain of fish farming and great intensification of tilapia farming. In this study, we aimed to monitor the quality of effluent water and organic and inorganic elements released by fish farming in ponds, using geomorphological and land-use and occupation data. The Terrain Analysis Using Digital Elevation Models, Digital Elevation Model software was used to delimit watersheds in the software Quantum geographic information system version 3.6.3. A total of 1,457 production units (water slides) were identified across the study area. This represented an occupied area of 160.2 ha. Analyzing the sub-basins, it was found that High Marreco is the sub-basin with the most developed logistical chain. Low Marreco does not yet have an integration of its fish farming with the region’s logistics chain. Medium Marreco does not have fish farming as its main activity, only using it to reuse inputs from other agricultural activities. There is a large input of nutrients from aquaculture in all the sub-basins. To reduce them, it is recommended to implement decantation and/or reuse of wastewater systems. The results of this study show how important it is to know the dynamics of nutrients in the fish farms and the physical characteristics of the drainage basin to determine the support capacity of the environment, so as not to allow licenses that promote impacts above the self-cleaning capacity of the courses water.

Public funding for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) innovation projects in collaboration with Scientific and Technological Institutions is still incipient in less developed Global South regions. Within the context mentioned above, our objective is to show a network analysis of Industry-University-Research Institute (IUR) interactions promoted by a government program, identifying its structure and dynamics and the influences played by these organisational actors. The results point out that the program presents effectiveness in establishing the IUR interaction network. Moreover, the network presents a scale-free structure, strong clustering and short distances between the actors. Universities lead as the most central actors, followed by research institutes. Despite the growth of the network with the significant entry of new SMEs, there is no evidence that this evolution contributes to improving its network metrics. The conclusions suggest that the network structure and dynamics may imply greater redundancy in the innovation process while allowing greater speed in the flow of knowledge and wider dissemination of knowledge among actors. The hubs (four central universities) in the network suggests an influence as generators and disseminators of knowledge and facilitators of interaction, but they can also limit the dynamics of the search for innovation in the network.

A exploração das riquezas naturais da Amazônia é contrastada com a pobreza da população de suas comunidades. A exploração descontrolada dos recursos naturais é insustentável do ponto de vista econômico, ambiental e sociais. Uma proposta para mitigar as externalidades ambientais e socioeconômicas seria a exploração sustentável pelas redes extrativistas e SAFs. O capital social na categoria laços fortes e fracos proporcionam a organização, fortalecimento e expansão das redes. A pesquisa foi realizada no Projeto RECA para responder à pergunta: quais as características do capital social na força dos laços fortes entre os membros da diretoria do Projeto RECA? A pesquisa tem o horizonte de tempo transversal, a epistemologia construtivista com abordagem descritiva, o método qualitativo e caracterizada como pesquisa qualitativa básica. Os dados são primários, coletados em entrevistas semiestruturadas com perguntas abertas. A análise de dados foi realizada em quatro etapas, e os resultados da análise das entrevistas confirmaram o enraizamento na diretoria do Projeto RECA do Capital Social na categoria laços fortes listadas Granovetter, caracterizadas nos aspectos: quantidade de tempo, intensidade emocional, intimidade, confiança mútua e serviços recíprocos. Apresentando um senso de pertencimento à comunidade e à associação.
