Micronutrients such as selenium, fluoride, zinc, iron, and manganese are minerals that are crucial for many body homeostatic processes supplied at low levels. The importance of these micronutrients starts early in the human life cycle and continues across its different stages. Several studies have emphasized the critical role of a well-balanced micronutrient intake. However, the majority of studies looked into or examined such issues in relation to a specific element or life stage, with the majority merely reporting the effect of either excess or deficiency. Herein, in this review, we will look in depth at the orchestration of the main element requirements across the human life cycle beginning from fertility and pregnancy, passing through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and reaching adulthood and senility, with insight on the interactions among them and underlying action mechanisms. Emphasis is given towards approaches to the role of the different minerals in the life cycle, associated symptoms for under- or overdoses, and typical management for each element, with future perspectives. The effect of sex is also discussed for each micronutrient for each life stage as literature suffice to highlight the different daily requirements and or effects.

bir indirekt [Epricord (Kuraray)] kompozit ve bir kompomer [(Dyract XP (Dyract XP, Dentsply, Konstanz, Almanya)] materyallerinden oluşturulmuştur (n=10). Hazırlanan kompozitlerin cilaları PoGo kitleri ile yapılmıştır. Her bir grupta yer alan kompozitler ikiye ayrılmış (n=5) ve bu alt gruplara iki farklı diş macunu (Colgate, Sensodyne) bir elektrikli diş fırçası aracılığıyla 12 dakika boyunca uygulanmıştır. Her bir örneğin başlangıç, cila sonrası ve diş fırçalama sonrası değerleri ayrı ayrı kaydedilmiştir. İstatistiksel analizler repeated tek yönlü varyans analizi (Anova) ile yapılmıştır (p<0.05). Bulgular:Bütün gruplarda en düşük pürüzlülük değerlerini anlamlı olarak şeffaf bant altında hazırlanan örnekler sergilemiştir (p0.05). Polisajdan sonra en düşük pürüzlülük değerini Aelite (0,347±0,21), en yüksek pürüzlülük değerlerini Dyract XP (0,453±0,11) sergilemiştir (p0.05). Sonuç: Bu çalışmada kullanılan bütün restoratif materyaller iki farklı diş macunu ile fırçalanma işlemi arkasından istatistiksel olarak başlangıç değerleri ile benzer sonuçlar sergilemiştir. Ancak Sensodyne; Aelite, Majesty Posterior ve Dyract XP"nin pürüzsüzlüğünü hafif düzeyde geliştirirken, Colgate Epricord ve Dyract XP"nin pürüzsüzlüğünü hafif düzeyde geliştirmiştir.

Background. Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA), as set by ISO 11609, is a standardized measurement on the abrasiveness of toothpaste. There are no published RDA values for Philippine-brand toothpastes. This study evaluated the degree of abrasion of five Philippine-brand toothpastes.Objective. To compare qualitatively and quantitatively the abrasivity of five Philippine-brand toothpastes (Brands X, U, H, HN, G) to two foreign-brand toothpastes Brand C (RDA 68) and Brand P (RDA 150).Methods. Twenty-four bovine dentin samples were brushed with a slurry of each of the toothpaste using a toothbrushing machine. A profilometer, scanning electron microscope and a visual measuring scope were used to determine abrasivity through the before-and-after-brushing surface roughness.Results. Ranked based on the difference of the means for surface roughness, before-and-after brushing, in decreasing order of abrasivity are: Brands P, X, U, H, C, HN, and G. Using Dunn's test-post hoc test for Kruskal-Wallis test at p ≤ 0.05, we showed that the abrasivity of Brands G, H, and HN were not significantly different from Brand C, and Brand X was not significantly different from Brand P. Brand U was significantly less abrasive than Brand P and significantly more abrasive than Brand C. Conclusion.Brands G, H, and HN can be considered as low-abrasive toothpastes, Brand X a high abrasive toothpaste, and with Brand U was unclear as to category. Findings from qualitative data support the quantitative data.
