ResumoBuscando-se alternativas para a melhor destinação deste resíduo e para o suprimento da crescente demanda por mudas nativas, este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar o uso do lodo tratado na composição de substrato para produção de mudas de mirindiba-rosa. Foram avaliadas características biométricas e fisiológicas das mudas e a qualidade do torrão formado. Para tratamento do lodo, foi feita aplicação de cal a 15% do peso seco do resíduo, sendo testadas as proporções de lodo de esgoto tratado de 25, 50 e 75%, associadas ao substrato comercial, e 100% de lodo de esgoto tratado. O tratamento com 100% de substrato comercial foi considerado como controle. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC), os dados foram submetidos a ANOVA, e as diferenças foram comparadas pelo teste de Tukey a 5%. Os melhores resultados foram observados nas mudas produzidas em substratos com lodo de esgoto tratado em relação ao substrato comercial puro. Recomenda-se, para essa espécie, proporções entre 25 e 100% de lodo de esgoto tratado em substrato comercial. Palavras-chave: Resíduo urbano, mirindiba-rosa, viveiro florestal, qualidade do torrão. AbstractTreated sewage sludge in substrate composition for the production of Lafoensia glyptocarpa seedlings In order to search for alternatives of better allocation of sewage sludge and supply of the increasing demand for native tree seedlings, this study aimed to assess the treated sewage sludge in substrate composition of mirindiba-rosa seedlings production. Biometrical and physiological characteristics of the seedlings and the clod quality were assessed. For treating the sludge, a lime application was done at 15% of residue dry weight. The following proportions of treated sewage sludge were tested: 25, 50, and 75%, blended with commercial substrate, and 100% of treated sewage sludge. The treatment with 100% of commercial substrate was the control. The study was conducted in a completely randomized design (DIC), data were subjected to ANOVA, and the differences were compared by the Tukey test at 5%. The best results were observed for the seedlings produced in substrates with treated sewage sludge in comparison to pure commercial substrate. Proportions between 25 and 100% of treated sewage sludge on commercial substrate are recommended for this species. Keywords: Urban waste, mirindiba-rosa, forest nursery, clod quality. Fertilization in the production of forest seedlings can vary according to the substrate, container and fertilizer used in the nursery. Controlled release fertilizers (CRF) can be applied to reduce or even to eliminate the need for top-dress fertilization. The CRF doses can vary according to the container volume, considering the different amount of substrate available for seedlings in different containers. This study aimed to evaluate the growth of Schizolobium parahyba seedlings produced in plastic tubes of 110 and 280 cm 3 , with different doses of CRF (15-09-12) (0, 3, 6 e 12 kg m -3 ), as well as the seedlings survival and the initial growth after post-planting in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro state. The study was conducted using a factorial design 2 x 4 (tube volumes x CRF doses), with five repetitions for each treatment. As substrate it was used sewage sludge from urban areas, which was dried in open air beds. The growth of seedlings at nursery was evaluated at 93 days after the transplant, and the survival and initial growth at five and twelve months after planting. The Schizolobium parahyba seedlings showed higher growth in 280 cm 3 tubes and responded positively to the CRF application, where the most efficient dose was 8.3 kg cm 3 for this plastic tube. Twelve months after planting, seedlings from all treatments showed survival below 80%, being under the standard recommended for forest restoration. The mortality of seedlings occurred in consequence of five months of water deficit in a sandy clay loam soil. Considering only nursery data, the combination of 280 cm 3 plastic tubes, with the CRF dose of 8.3 kg cm 3 are recommended to produce Schizolobium parahyba seedlings. ResumoA fertilização na produção de mudas florestais é variável de acordo com o substrato, recipiente e o tipo de fertilizante utilizados. O fertilizante de liberação controlada (FLC) pode ser utilizado visando diminuir ou mesmo eliminar a necessidade de fertilização de cobertura. A dose de FLC aplicada pode variar de acordo com o volume do recipiente, considerando a quantidade de substrato disponível para as mudas em diferentes recipientes. Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o crescimento de mudas de Schizolobium parahyba produzidas com tubetes de 110 e 280 cm 3 em doses crescentes de FLC (15-09-12) (0, 3, 6 e 12 kg m -3 ), bem como seu crescimento inicial e sobrevivência após plantio na região norte do estado do Rio de Janeiro. O estudo foi conduzido em arranjo fatorial 2 x 4 (recipientes x doses de FLC) com 5 repetições para cada tratamento. Sewage sludge is an organic matter-rich material with abundant fractions of nitrogen and other macro and micronutrients, essential for plant growth and development such as Acacia mangium Willd. (Fabales: Fabaceae) used in recovering actions of degraded areas. The objective of this study was to evaluate over 24 months the abundance and diversity of chewing and pollinator insects and arthropod predators on A. mangium plants and the mass production and soil coverage by this plant, fertilized with dehydrated sewage sludge, in a degraded area. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with two treatments (with and without dehydrated sewage sludge) and 24 replications. The number of leaves per branch and branches per plant, defoliation percentage by chewing insects, soil cover and abundance of chewing and pollinator insects and arthropod predators were higher on A. mangium plants fertilized with dehydrated sewage sludge. Nasutitermes sp. (Blattodea: Termitidae) and Trigona spinipes F. (Hymenoptera: Apidae) were the most observed insects on trunks and leaves, respectively, of A. mangium plants fertilized with dehydrated sewage sludge. The A. mangium fertilization increases the populations of different insect and spider groups on this plant.
