Abstract:Resumo Tomando como ponto de partida o projeto comparativo entre o Caribe e o Brasil, originalmente idealizado por Louis Herns Marcelin (1996), o artigo se articula em torno de dois eixos de reflexão. Primeiramente, busco estabelecer um diálogo entre a obra deste autor e algumas questões centrais nas etnografias sobre o Haiti e o Caribe, como a conjugalidade e a matrifocalidade.
