The role of selenium and zinc oxide nanoparticles on mitigating side effects of obesity in rats

Abstract: Obesity and related diseases represent greatest threats to human health. Nanoparticles (NPs) serve to reduce toxicity; reinforce bioactivity and improve targeting. This study was intended to investigate the antiobesity and antioxidant activities of selenium and zinc oxide nanoparticles. Methods: Twenty four adult male rats were divided into four groups, group1 control rats fed normal diet and the other three groups were fed high fat diet (HFD) for 10 weeks to induce obesity and injected intraperitoneally with … Show more

“…There has also been a positive change in fat levels in the nutritious rat aggregates with high calorie tenderness with nanoscale zinc oxide dosage and thus a decrease in their levels which has been positively reflected in animal health. This is what [25] have concluded with their study, which is consistent with our current study. This study also converged with the study of [26] in which it compared the effectiveness of zinc oxide nanoparticles with the drug Atorvastatin and nanoparticles have shown their effectiveness in lowering fat levels.…”

“…They may be obtained from microorganisms, plants, or animals through either food processing operations or digestion within the human gastrointestinal tract. Peptides are known to chelate selenium, which improves its water-solubility, absorption, and biological activity. , Chen et al prepared egg white selenopeptide through enzymatic hydrolysis and studied its immunomodulatory function. Zhang et al prepared soybean selenium-enriched peptide through enzymatic hydrolysis and found that it has good immunomodulatory activity.…”
