Produtividade e efi ciência no setor agropecuário do nordeste brasileiroProductivity and effi ciency in the northeast brazil agricultural sector Abstract: This article analyzes the total factor productivity in the Northeast region of Brazil, being a region that has limitations in terms of natural resources for agricultural production. Was estimated a production frontier and determined the Malmquist total factor productivity (TPF) index, which is decomposed in the rates of effi ciency and technological change. The conclusions indicate that TFP growth was not homogeneous between the northeastern states, and that agricultural sector obtained increasing gains of productivity from 1970 to 2006. Productivité et l'effi cacité dans le secteur agricole du nord-est du BrésilRésumé: Cet article analyse la productivité totale des facteurs dans la région nord-est du Brésil, et la région brési-lienne qui a ses limites en termes de ressources naturelles pour la production agricole. La frontière de la production est estimée et qui détermine le taux de productivité totale des facteurs (PTF) de Malmquist, qui est décomposé dans les taux de variation de l'effi cacité et du changement technologique. Les résultats indiquent que la croissance de la PTF n'a pas été homogène dans les États du nord et le secteur agricole a enregistré des gains de productivité accrue 1970-2006. La frontera de producción se estima y que determina la tasa de productividad total de los factores (PTF) de Malmquist, que se descompone en las tasas de cambio de la efi ciencia y el cambio tecnológico. Los resultados indican que el crecimiento de la PTF no fue homogénea en los estados del noreste y el sector agropecuario tuvo ganancias de aumento de la productividad 1970-2006. Performance of Brazilian total factor productivity from 2004 to 2014: a sectoral and regional analysis
