“…From our perspective, metallo-phthalocyanines (MPcs) have had an unparalleled range of practical applications since their discovery [1] (see figure 1). Unsubstituted MPcs are commonly used as dyes and pigments [1], while substituted phthalocyanines find application in industrial catalytic systems [2], photodynamic cancer therapy [3], electrophotography [4], continuous ink printers [5], chemical sensors [6], liquid crystals [7], and nanotechnology [8]. These applications leverage the optical, electrical, and morphological properties of phthalocyanines, which can be adjusted through suitable peripheral substitutions [8][9][10] Furthermore, many of these macrocyclic compounds have had a significant economic impact.…”
