Total phenolic, flavonoid, alkaloid and iridoid content and preventive effect of Lider-7-tang on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in rats

Abstract: Lider-7-tang, a medicine used for the treatment of respiratory diseases especially pneumonia and fever in Mongolian Traditional Medicine, was selected for this phytochemical and pharmacological study. The objectives of the study were to determine total biological active substances and analyze the effects of Lider-7-tang treatment in rats with acute lung injury (ALI). Quantitative determination of the total active constituents (phenolic, flavonoid, iridoid and alkaloid) of the methanol extract of Lider-7-tang w… Show more

“…alopecuroides showed maximum amount of flavonoid contents followed by ethanol and aqueous extract. Similar to our findings other members of genus Sophora also possess good amount of flavonoids (Erdenechimeg et al, 2017). On the basis of solvent polarity, the range of total flavonoid content in various plant extracts varies (Zohra et al, 2019).…”

“…TPC values showed decreasing trend as polarity of the solvent is decreasing and maximum results are shown in methanol, ethanol, and water, respectively (Figure 1). Similar results were shown by Erdenechimeg, Guiqide, Dejidmaa, Chimedragchaa, and Purevsuren (2017), the S . alopecuroides extracts show the good amount of phenolic contents.…”

“…The assessment of total iridoid content (TIC) of the extracts obtained from Ajuga genevensis ( Ag1, Ag2, Ag3 ) and A. reptans ( Ar1, Ar2, Ar3 ) aerial parts was accomplished by a photometric method, by a Trim-Hill reaction. The content in total iridoids was expressed as aucubin equivalents (mg AEs)/g dw vegetal product [49].…”

“…The TFC was determined using AlCl 3 method (Toiu et al, 2018), and expressed as REs (mg RE/g dw) ( R 2 = 0.999). The TIC was determined by a photometric method based on a Trim-Hill reaction and the results were expressed as AEs (mg AE/g dw) (Erdenechimeg et al, 2017).…”
