Abstract:Resumo O artigo analisa a formação e a carreira profissional de Jack Elinson (1917-2017), pioneiro no campo das ciências sociomedicas na introdução de seu ensino e pesquisa em uma faculdade de saúde pública, na Universidade de Columbia, onde trabalhou durante trinta anos (1956-1986).
