Efeito da localização geográfica na etiologia de algumas patologias genéticas: uma revisãoEffect of geographical location on the etiology of some genetic pathologies: a review
A B S T R A C TThe formation of an individual is based on a correlation between genetic and geographical factors. In order to evaluate the influence of geographical location on the determination of pathological phenotypic characteristics prevalent in several societies, a systematic review of the literature was carried out in the databases PUBMED, SCIELO, NCBI and CAPES, by means of the analysis of 17 articles; of these, 15 are originals and two of review, published in the period between 2012 to 2017. The literature reveals that due to the high rate of miscegenation, to which populations have been and continue to be submitted, there is a specificity between the appearance of genetic-geographic factors according to the regions of the globe that can be justified by the occurrence of mutations, structural variants and transmission of adaptive alleles. To that end, several technological advances in the field of genetics have shown to be useful tools in the identification and understanding of the levels of this mixture of ethnicities, such as mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and non-recombinant Y chromosome (NRY). 1.
