Abstract: Resumo O artigo tem como objetivo principal examinar a trajetória de vida de doze mulheres pioneiras na política brasileira pós Estado Novo que foram eleitas deputadas estaduais e federais na década de 1950, para verificar quais condições e razões concorreram para sua entrada na carreira política em disputas eleitorais.
