Abstract: This study aims to present the development of a model for optimization of periodicity in the preventive maintenance plans of industrial assets, through the study of the lifespan of systems justified by use, time, condition, and costs. The mathematical modeling used was implemented computationally using the MATLAB  software. The aim of this model is to provide increased reliability to the facilities, in line with the financial results of the business. The line of research is integrated into the Reliability Cen… Show more

“…In step 6, the following criteria for decision-making were defined based on the literature: (i) part replacement based on service life (Corrêa and Dias 2016;Syamsundar et al 2021;Liu et al 2021); (ii) downtime hours for preventive maintenance (Wang et al 2020;Sin and Chung 2020;Mena et al 2021;Kunz 2022); (iii) equipment reliability (Sarajcev et al 2020;Akl et al 2022), and (iv) cost of materials and labour (Kardec et al 2014;Guner et al 2021;Syamsundar et al 2021;Moghaddam 2021;Kunz 2022), and agreed by the steel company expert team. , 4, 6, 8 Intermediate values between the two adjacent judgments…”

“…Preventive maintenance, in turn, requires planning and discipline, and on the other hand decreases the shortcomings and costs in the medium and long term (Xenos, 2004;Shareghi & Faieza, 2011;Vieira, 2015). Contrary to what occurs in the industry, the preventive maintenance of buildings is not limited to the halting of the production process, perhaps, a time of unavailability of use of that particular space (Correia & Dias, 2016).…”
