Modern society faces serious challenges, among them, the complexity of environmental problems. Thus, there are several possible sources of environmental degradation, however, the waste produced by health services have an important peculiarity due to its toxic or pathogenic characteristics, since when managed improperly provide also health risk public. The involvement of solid waste from healthcare services environmental impact integrates matters a little more complex, because in addition to environmental health, they also interfere with the healthiness of environments that generate, with the consequences of nosocomial infections, occupational health and public. Thus, the management has become an urgent need, especially when we see no use of performance indicators management in healthcare environments in the city of São Mateus, ES. For this, we used the Analytic Hierarchy Process Method to prioritize such indicators as the potential improvement in health services waste management process -WHS and thus environmental analysis was performed with the use of a template for SWOT analysis. The results showed that the performance indicator training strategies developed with employees has the greatest potential to assist in improvements in WHS (Health Services Waste) management process followed indicator knowledge of the regulations associated with procedures performed by employees and importance of biosafety regulations.

Objective: To understand maternal perceptions and experiences regarding the eating habits of obese children aged five to nine years. Methods: This is a qualitative research, and semi-structured interviews and discourse analysis were used to interpret narratives of 13 women from the city of Fortaleza, Ceará state, Brazil. Results: These women described the eating habits of their obese children in terms of how they eat and mentioned: eating fast, eating in front of the television, secret eating, eating large amounts of food, and the consumption of processed foods that are high in fat, sugars, and sodium. Conclusion: Seeing the mother and her obese child as a unit that needs support and guidance is a big step to plant the seeds to reap the rewards, i.e., exerting important impacts on the lives of these families and on the current scenario of childhood obesity.

Este artigo apresenta os resultados obtidos com a aplicação de um texto sobre cosmologia moderna, baseado em considerações históricas e epistemológicas. O texto elaborado, A Cosmologia ModernaÀ Luz Dos Elementos Da Epistemologia de Lakatos, busca traçar a evolução da teoria do big bang, com um olhar epistemológico que busca trazer ao estudante de física uma oportunidade de conhecer melhor a natureza da pesquisa científica. Apresenta-se uma breve caracterização do referencial didático utilizado, a saber, a teoria educacional de Bob Gowin, e da epistemologia de Lakatos. Mostra-se na seqüência o perfil do texto elaborado, seguido pelos resultados obtidos com alunos de graduação em física participantes de uma atividade nele baseada. Palavras-chave: cosmologia, teoria do big bang, programa de pesquisa, ensino de física moderna, material educativo. This paper presents the results obtained with the implementation of a text on modern cosmology, with a historical and epistemological approach. The text, Modern Cosmology Grounded in the Elements of Epistemology of Lakatos, traces the evolution of the big bang theory, with an epistemological approach that seeks to bring to the physics student an opportunity to better understand the nature of scientific research. It is presented a brief exposition of the pedagogical reference, based on the educational theory of Bob Gowin and the epistemology of Lakatos. It is then presented an overview of the text, and the results obtained by undergraduate students in physics in a teaching activity based on this text. IntroduçãoA proposta de se ensinar ciências com uma preocupação também voltadaàs questões históricas e filosóficas, ou seja, um ensino não só em ciências, mas também sobre ciências [1, p. 166], tem produzido resultados relevantes nasúltimas décadas, que sugerem que a preocupação com aquelas questões podem contribuir para uma visão mais adequada da atividade científica [1-4, 6, 8].Apesar de as justificativas para o ensino da natureza da ciência nas aulas de ciências serem heterogêneas e, em alguns casos, até mesmo discordantes [10,11,13], um amplo consenso se apresenta em relaçãoà necessidade de se superar uma visão essencialmente empirista da ciência [7,[11][12][13]. Ainda como consenso, pode-se mencionar que o interesse com as investigações em ensino de ciências, sobre a natureza da ciência na formação de professores, costuma se basear em duas hipóteses: a) o entendimento da natureza da ciência pelo professor tem relação com a imagem que os alunos adquirem a respeito dela, e b) as crenças do professor sobre a natureza da ciência influenciam significativamente nas suas decisões didáticas em sala [10, p. 3].Nesse artigo, concorda-se com a idéia de que, em termos didáticos, deve-se proceder de modo a formar uma imagem da metodologia científica -longe de qualquer idéia de algoritmo com que freqüente-mente se apresenta -na qual nada garante que se chegará a um bom resultado, m...
