Modern society faces serious challenges, among them, the complexity of environmental problems. Thus, there are several possible sources of environmental degradation, however, the waste produced by health services have an important peculiarity due to its toxic or pathogenic characteristics, since when managed improperly provide also health risk public. The involvement of solid waste from healthcare services environmental impact integrates matters a little more complex, because in addition to environmental health, they also interfere with the healthiness of environments that generate, with the consequences of nosocomial infections, occupational health and public. Thus, the management has become an urgent need, especially when we see no use of performance indicators management in healthcare environments in the city of São Mateus, ES. For this, we used the Analytic Hierarchy Process Method to prioritize such indicators as the potential improvement in health services waste management process -WHS and thus environmental analysis was performed with the use of a template for SWOT analysis. The results showed that the performance indicator training strategies developed with employees has the greatest potential to assist in improvements in WHS (Health Services Waste) management process followed indicator knowledge of the regulations associated with procedures performed by employees and importance of biosafety regulations.
A Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Doce, localizada no sudeste do Brasil possui uma população de 3,5 milhões de habitantes, que em sua maioria depende do rio Doce, considerado um dos rios mais importantes do país. Mas em 2015 este rio foi atingido por um dos maiores desastres socioambientais, o rompimento da barragem de Fundão em Mariana (MG). A população mencionada foi exposta à lama que impactou severamente suas vidas. Com isso, o objetivo é a realização de um estudo bibliométrico (quantitativo e qualitativo), com recorte voltado para os aspectos sociais que envolvem a Bacia do Rio Doce, buscando verificar e descrever as mudanças ocorridas nas publicações antes e depois do desastre. Onde foram analisados 81 artigos que envolvem os aspectos sociais gerais relacionados a Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Doce. É possível notar que o rompimento da barragem de Fundão impactou o ambiente, a sociedade e o foco das pesquisas que envolvem a bacia. Concluiu-se que as publicações sobre a educação, saúde e impactos sociais passou a ter como foco a realidade dos atingidos, assim como as comunidades isoladas que sofrem até hoje, cinco anos após o desastre, com os resquícios da lama. Destaca-se as obras relacionadas a aspectos sociais gerais, e os impactos sobre as comunidades ribeirinhas, além de discutir sobre os atores envolvidos, como o Estado, empresas, Fundação Renova e atingidos. Não deixando de mencionar a importância das publicações que tratam dos riscos e falhas em barragens, afim de estudar maneiras de evitar e mitigar esses tipos de desastres.
