The M-Rna, Expression of Serca2 and Ncx1 in the Process of Pharmacological Cell Protection in Experimental Acute Pancreatitis Induced by Taurocholate

Abstract: Background: Intracellular calcium overload is known to be a precipitating factor of pancreatic cell injury in acute pancreatitis (AP). Intracellular calcium homeostasis depends of Plasmatic Membrane Calcium ATPase (PMCA), Sarcoplasmic Endothelial Reticulum Calcium ATPase 2 (SERCA 2) and the Sodium Calcium Exchanger (NCX1). The antioxidant melatonin (Mel) and Trisulfate Disaccharide (TD) that accelerates NCX1 action could reduce the cell damage determined by the AP. Aim:To evaluate m-RNA expressions of SERCA2 a… Show more

“…Overactivation of Ca 2+ /CaMK IIδ signalling has been linked to cardiac muscle cell death, cardiomyopathy and heart failure 45,46. In addition, SERCA2a, RyR2-pS2814 and NCX1 are important regulators of Ca 2+ homoeostasis in cardiomyocytes y [47][48][49][50]. In this study, we found that THP increased the expression of CALM1, CaMKIIδ and RyR2-pS2814, but decreased the expression of SERCA2a and NCX1 in H9C2 and HL-1 cardiomyocytes, and miR129-1-3p overexpression prevented the changes in the expression of these proteins induced by THP.…”

“…Thus, in view of the importance of a correct follow-up for NIMP, its validation may generate new studies 31 , encouraging the greater applicability of the EPAAF for the diagnosis and follow-up of these pancreatic cystic neoplasms.…”

“…The increased use of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has increased the recognition of pancreatic cystic lesions, classified as neoplastic and pseudocyst 6 , 8 , 21 , 28 . The most common cystic neoplasms are: serous cystic neoplasia, mucinous, solid-cystic pseudopapillary (Frantz) and papilliferous mucinous mucinous intraductal neoplasia (NIMP) 2 , 15 , 31 . The diagnosis and treatment of the latter has evolved since its first description by Ohashi et al 20 .…”

“…In the endocrine system, NCX1 can regulate insulin secretion[20]. In the immune system, NCX1 is associated with the development of systemic lupus erythematosus[21]. In recent years, NCX1 has been found to be expressed in all of the organs of the digestive system and play important roles in the physiological processes and digestive diseases (such as pancreatitis, gastric ulcer, and gastrointestinal cancers)[22-24], However, the mechanism and function of NCX1 in the gastrointestinal tract have not yet been completely elucidated, particularly relating to certain digestive diseases and tumors.…”
