The "Brave New World" envisioned a society dominated by scientific and technological progress that went as far as to subjugate and dehumanize human beings. The future foreseen in this literary work is not far from what we are currently experiencing. Thus, considering that Nursing is affected and challenged in the midst of these technological transformations, this article aims to discuss the present and future of Nursing in a society that is undergoing constant technological transformations. In the midst of a whole technological apparatus in which fundamental procedures begin to be carried out by machines, Nursing needs to begin reflecting on what would be the best posture or its differential in a world with strong technological tendencies. Future transformations are still uncertain, nonetheless they will drastically change the way individuals relate to one another and to health services. Even in the midst of these uncertainties arising from present and future technological and scientific advances, the nature of Nursing which is essentially based on human interactions, can guarantee a place of prominence for this profession in society.

Objective:To know the scientific production on the performance of the nursing staff in robotic surgeries, identifying the role of the nurse in the three perioperative periods. selected articles met the inclusion criteria. Results: Most articles were published in foreign journals in English, nine in the United States, classified with evidence level of 4 and 5. The role of nursing in the perioperative period was identified, related mainly to patient safety. The most mentioned perioperative period in the articles was the intraoperative, with greater concern in the positioning of the patient. Conclusion: The nursing performance and patient safety in robotic surgeries are similar to the ones in major surgeries, requiring from the patient a specific knowledge on the setting and preparation of the robot.

Introdução: O câncer colorretal (CCR) é resultado de divisões celulares descontroladas e desordenadas na região do cólon até o ânus, provocando alterações teciduais, sendo mundialmente o terceiro tipo de câncer mais comum. Além disso, antes não era possível tratar essa patologia devido às limitações da época, contudo, o avanço tecnológico permitiu novos mecanismos de intervenção para essa condição. Nesse sentido, o tratamento inicialmente consistia em quimioterapia e radioterapia, mas hoje existem meios mais eficazes e com menor prejuízo aos pacientes, como o uso de anticorpos monoclonais (MABS), nanomaterias e radioterapia de intensidade modulada (IMRT). Objetivos: Realizar uma revisão bibliográfica a respeito dos avanços tecnológicos no tratamento de Câncer colorretal. Metodologia: Esse estudo é uma revisão de bibliográfica acerca dos avanços tecnológicos no tratamento de CCR. Bases de dados: PubMed, Scielo ou Medline, Revista Cientifica Brasileira de Coloproctologia e guias de medicina ambulatorial e hospitalar de oncologia e artigos de clínica prática. Resultado e discussão: É possível perceber que há uma maior incidência de câncer colorretal em mulheres e em pessoas com maus hábitos de vida. O avanço tecnológico permitiu a realização de um diagnóstico mais eficaz e precoce, além de permitir o surgimento de tratamentos mais efetivos, menos invasivos e com melhor prognóstico para o paciente. Conclusão: A partir de estudos recentes é possível a utilização de novos medicamentos com menores taxas de acometimento de células saudáveis, por meio de métodos cada vez menos invasivos e com maiores taxas de sucesso.
