Yield capacity of six superior pitaya genotypes under edaphoclimatic conditions of the Federal District

Abstract: The Embrapa Cerrados pitaya breeding program developed five superior genotypes of different species. The objective of this work was to evaluate the yield capacity of these five pitaya genotypes under the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Federal District. The experiment was carried out at the Embrapa Cerrados in Planaltina, DF. The five selected pitaya genotypes were evaluated, as well as a parent genotype used in the breeding program. Length (CF), diameter (DF) and mass (MF) of all fruits were evaluated, as we… Show more

“…Conventionally, morphological traits had been used to differentiate plant germplasm/ species and to elucidate their genetic relationship (Sibut et al, 2023). As in this study, high values were observed in the coefficients of variation in the characteristics associated with the cladode and the sprouts, in the evaluated locations.…”

“…A previous study showed that morphoagronomic characterizations could be used to determine the variation in natural pitahaya populations (Abirami et al, 2021). Sibut et al (2023) evaluated yield capacity of six superior pitaya genotypes under edaphoclimatic conditions of the Federal district in Brazil, found genotypes with good physical characteristics, performance and adapted to local conditions.…”
