HISTOLOGICAL ANALYSIS AND PERFORMANCE OF SOUR PASSION FRUIT POPULATIONS UNDER DIFFERENT ROOTSTOCKS RESISTANT TO Fusarium spp

Abstract: The present study aimed to describe histological traits of the graft welding process and evaluate the effect of rootstocks on the physical and chemical traits and the productivity of sour passion fruit populations. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design, in a 4x2 + 4 factorial scheme (cultivars / canopy x rootstocks), three replicates and nine plants per plot. Commercial cultivars and populations and Passiflora alata and P. nitida rootstocks, in addition to ungrafted plants were used as canop… Show more

“…The seedling cultivar presented a much lower productivity. This result contradicts those obtained by Ambrosio (2018), where seedling plants present higher productivity in relation to those grafted onto P. nitida and P. alata. These results can be justified by the absence of the quantification of mortality due to Fusarium in the study by Ambrosio (2018) or in the use by the author of a soil with a low index or absence of the disease.…”

These results can be justified by the absence of the quantification of mortality due to Fusarium in the study by Ambrosio (2018) or in the use by the author of a soil with a low index or absence of the disease. In this type of study based on the host pathogen interaction, the presence of the two is fundamental in order that the plant express its resistance and consequently higher productivity.…”

“…Deve-se higienizar os instrumentos utilizados para operações de cuidados culturais, como desbaste e poda, para evitar que se tornem mecanismos de disseminação do vírus no pomar, eliminação de plantas infectadas até a fase de floração, utilização de quebra-ventos, ente outros. que inviabiliza a produção (Ambrósio et al, 2018). Essa situação é particularmente evidente nas regiões Nordeste, Centro-Oeste e Norte do país.…”
