Sexual transmission of American trypanosomiasis in humans: a new potential pandemic route for Chagas parasites

Abstract: BACKGROUND The Trypanosoma cruzi infection endemic in Latin America has now spread to several countries across four continents; this endemic involves triatomine vector-free protists.
