Carreiras Políticas na Câmara dos Deputados: Uma Análise Quase-Experimental

Abstract: RESUMO Este artigo investiga o efeito das eleições sobre as carreiras dos candidatos a deputado federal no Brasil. Com um desenho de regressão descontínua, ele mostra que os resultados de uma única eleição têm impactos substantivos na carreira parlamentar: obter um mandato na Câmara causa um aumento de cerca de 25 pontos percentuais a mais na chance de um político ser reeleito quatro anos depois, efeito que permanece positivo por até 12 anos após o primeiro mandato.
