“…A 'sociologised' variant of phenomenology therefore departs from traditional philosophical phenomenology in that it encourages researchers to acknowledge the structurally, politically and ideologicallyinfluenced, historically-specific, and socially situated nature of human embodiment and experience (Allen-Collinson and Hockey 2011: 332) as well as applying phenomenologically-inspired principles to the collection and analysis of empirical data.
