In sports, game scenarios can be critical or non-critical, potentially presenting very distinct implications for the game flow. However, defining a critical scenario is not an easy task. Although there is some research on game scenarios, game situations, game moments, and critical moments, through this systematic review we intend to fill a gap in the knowledge of critical scenarios in order to structure the existing knowledge and pinpoint current limitations. the search was conducted in July of 2020 in Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, SciELO, and, through a manual search, in Google Scholar. the eligibility criteria included original research with quantitative and/or qualitative analysis of critical game scenarios or game moments. the participants were humans of any gender, age group, health status, competitive level, or expertise. Risk of bias assessment involved 14 criteria in the evaluation of the studies. the study synthesis methods followed a qualitative synthesis of the main results of each study in the final sample. Of the 279 researched articles, only 4 met the inclusion criteria, i.e. only 4 provided data concerning critical game scenarios. their contributions are discussed in detail, as is the open research windows for the future. Overall, there is clearly a need for more research specifically addressing this topic, with a huge gap between theoretical relevance and actual investigation.

RESUMONa categoria infantil do handebol a utilização de defesas zonais abertas, especialmente a defesa 3:3, tem sido defendida pela literatura especializada. Entretanto, torna-se necessário compreender como a defesa 3:3 pode se comportar frente às transformações do sistema ofensivo adversário. Sustentados numa revisão bibliográfica e na articulação com estudos, pesquisas e conhecimentos aplicados, este estudo apresenta possibilidades para o uso de meios táticos defensivos individuais e de grupo em busca do êxito defensivo, considerando os níveis de compreensão do jogo dos jovens atletas. Assim, apresentamos propostas que sustentam a necessidade de aprendizagem de meios táticos como o reconhecimento do atacante direto, os deslizamentos e as trocas de oponentes, tendo em vista o êxito do sistema defensivo 3:3 frente às transformações ofensivas realizadas por circulações de pontas e desdobramentos de armadores adversários. ABSTRACTIn the u-14 handball category, the use of open zonal defenses, especially the 3:3 defensive system, has been defended in the specialized literature. However, it becomes necessary to understand how 3: 3 defensive system can behave against the transformations of the opposing offensive system. Based on a bibliographical review and articulations with studies, research and applied knowledge, this study presents possibilities for the use of individual and group tactical means of defensive success considering the levels of understanding of the game of the young athletes. Thus, we present proposals that support the need to learn tactical means in view of the success of the 3:3 defensive system against the offensive system transformations.

El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar el panorama científico con respecto a los estudios con entrenadores de balonmano. Para esto, se realizó una revisión sistemática con búsquedas en diferentes bases de datos desde el año 2000. El análisis de los artículos seleccionados permitió identificar tres temas: a) intervención de los entrenadores para el desempeño; b) intervención de entrenadores centrados en aspectos psicológicos; y c) perfil y formación de entrenadores. Los artículos analizados destacaron la formación de los entrenadores, teniendo como temas principales abordados por los investigadores las intervenciones de los entrenadores relacionadas con los contenidos técnico-tácticos, los comentarios, la preparación física, las formas de liderazgo y la relación con los jugadores. Se concluyó que los estudios con entrenadores deben ser estimulados para ayudarlos en el proceso de aprendizaje profesional, pero también se debe dar más énfasis a las categorías iniciales de entrenamiento deportivo, ya que se encontró preferencia por artículos que retratan la categoría de adultos. The aim of this study was to identify the scientific scenario situation of the handball coaches. For this, a systematic review was performed with searches in different databases since 2000 in three specific themes: a) coaches intervention in performance; b) coaches intervention in psychology issues; and c) coaches profiles and formation. The analyzed papers highlighted the coaches professional learning, and the mainly investigated subjects were related to the coaches’ interventions related to the technical-tactical contents, the feedbacks, the physical fitness, the leaderships ways and the relationship with players. It can be concluded that studies with coaches should be stimulated to assist them in the professional formation process, but greater attention should also be given to the youth sports, once that was found a preference for works involving adult teams.
