“… 33 Before transporting apheresis platelet concentrates via the PTS, acceleration forces should be measured at each facility and validation using a quality threshold should be performed. 9 , 19 , 34 An appropriate study design for this is provided by Garcia et al 35 or by Stangerup et al 36 who performed a 5‐day validation using mini data logger.…”

“…Despite that, the ndings are seldom related to any clinical signi cance. In addition, Garcia et al (2021) analyzed hemoglobin and hemolysis index. It demonstrates that both transport routes exhibited no signi cant difference between pre-and post-transport values for hemoglobin and hemolysis index.…”

“…From the 12 evaluated studies that deal with clinical chemistry parameters, four studies [1,8,10,11] suggest that there is a clinically signi cant difference between the levels of Lactate Dehydrogenase on blood samples transported through PTS and manual transport, with a p-value of 0.001, < 0.0001, 0.000, and < 0.01 respectively. On the other hand, ve studies [5,6,7,9,15] stated that there is no clinically signi cant difference between samples transported with the use of PTS and manual transport, with a pvalue of 0.666, 0.4819, 0.6, 0.218, and 0.648 consecutively. The PTS used has a varying length from 42.6 to 1,423m with a speed ranging from 2 to 10.9 m/s, whereas one study [11] did not report the length nor the speed of the PTS utilized.…”
