“…With regard to the seeds, it has been reported that they have an oval shape, and measure approximately 4 mm in length, are 3 mm wide and 0.8 mm thick, dorsoventrally compressed, with a dark brown color (Torres‐Rivera, 2018). The seeds do not have an endosperm, which according to the literature is a typical characteristic of the Bignoniaceae family, as they are exalbuminosas seeds with little or no endosperm, with a slight presence of an endothelium (Casoti et al, 2016; Lohmann & Taylor, 2014). The cotyledons are large (Figures 2e,f and 3e,f), with tangentially elongated ventral epidermal cells, while the dorsal epidermis of the cotyledon is septately shaped, and the cotyledon cells in the center of the seed appear as a rounded shape.…”

“…Paraffin was removed, first at 58 C for 48 hr, then using xylol (100%) and the samples were hydrated in a series of ethanol (96, 70, and 25%) for 20 min. Then, the sections were stained with Schiff's reagent and toluidine blue (0.5%) was used to provide evidence of the polysaccharides and lignocellulosic compounds, respectively, in the general microstructure (Casoti, Manfron, & de Oliveira, 2016). The sections were then mounted on the glass slides with a drop of Entellan mounting medium and finally the samples were visualized with light microscope (Eclipse Ti-U, Nikon, Japan).…”

“…The garden Pandorea plants have produced abundant seedlings, particularly of P. pandorana, which is now well-established throughout the garden. Pandorea is typical of tribe Bignoniae, family Bignoniaceae, with deep bell-like flowers and large seed pods densely packed with flat winged seeds, in two valves either side of a stiff seminiferous column (Casoti et al 2016;Stevens 2017).…”
