HPV infection, risk factors and viral load among Mexican male college students

Abstract

HPV16 displayed the highest viral load, and it was the most prevalent. It was found that using contraceptive pills by female partners was associated with HPV infection.

Perfil do Conhecimento de Estudantes de uma Universidade Particular de Curitiba em relação ao HPV e Sua Prevenção

“…Em um estudo realizado na Flórida com estudantes universitários, apenas 37% tinham ouvido falar do HPV, e o conhecimento sobre o mesmo nos homens neste estudo foi superior ao encontrado nessa literatura 16,17 . Em um estudo realizado na Faculdade Unidas do Vale do Araguaia (MT), 58% dos universitários afirmaram não conhecer nada a respeito do assunto e apenas 42% disseram ter conhecimento sobre o HPV 6 Sabe-se que o uso de preservativo masculino é um importante fator protetor da transmissão de HPV, embora não seja 100% eficaz, pois não protege genitais externos completamente. No presente estudo, 91,3% dos graduandos em Enfermagem consideram o não uso de preservativo masculino um importante fator de aumento da transmissão de HPV, contra 34% encontrados na literatura 8 .…”
