An electrochemical sensing platform based on a new Cd(II)-containing ionic liquid for the determination of trichloroacetic acid and bromate

Abstract: The present work reports on the synthesis, characterization and performance of a new metalcontaining ionic liquid [(C 3 H 7 ) 2 -bim] 2 [CdCl 4 ] (bim = benzimidazole) as an electrocatalyst for trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and bromate reduction. The structure of Cd(II)-containing ionic liquid (Cd-IL) was characterized by X-ray crystallography, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.
