1,5-Diaminopentane As A Structure-Directing Agent for Zincophosphate Networks: Zn3(PO4)2(C5H14N2)2·3H2O and C5H16N2·Zn3(PO4)2(HPO4)·H2O

Abstract: Abstract:The crystal structures of two zincophosphate networks prepared in the presence of 1,5-diaminopentane (dap) are described. In Zn 3 (PO 4 ) 2 (C 5 H 14 N 2 ) 2 ·3H 2 O (1) the dap forms Zn-N coordinate bonds to generate an unusual three-dimensional "hybrid" framework constructed from ZnO 3 N, ZnO 2 N 2 and PO 4 tetrahedra with three different types of elongated channels occupied by water molecules. In C 5 H 16 N 2 ·Zn 3 (PO 4 ) 2 (HPO 4 )·H 2 O; (2) the doubly-protonated H 2 dap acts in a more typical w… Show more

“…Aliphatic diamines, which are starting compounds for polyamides, are widely used in textile and machine engineering and are therefore among the most commercially available bridging ligands can be used to form coordination polymers [28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36]. Metal complexes with aliphatic diamines are particularly interesting for studying their structure in crystals [30,[32][33][34][36][37][38][39][40], developing bistable systems [19,28,29,41,42], and creating materials with almost zero thermal expansion effect [35].…”
