1-[(4-Hydroxyanilino)methylidene]naphthalen-2(1H)-one

Abstract: Key indicators: single-crystal X-ray study; T = 296 K; mean (C-C) = 0.003 Å; R factor = 0.036; wR factor = 0.099; data-to-parameter ratio = 9.5.The title Schiff base, C 17 H 13 NO 2 , crystallizes in the zwitterionic form and an N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bond closes an S(6) ring. The dihedral angle between the aromatic ring systems is 15.62 (9) . In the crystal, O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds link the molecules into C(11) chains propagating in [010]. Related literature

“…[ 16 ] This is confirmed by the presence of new bands at 502–537, 566–645, and 446–457 cm −1 in the spectra of complexes, designated to υ(M‐N), υ(M‐O), and υ(M‐S), respectively. [ 16,23 ] Furthermore, the broad band at 3373 cm −1 and 3383 cm −1 in the IR spectra of the Co(II) and Pd(II) complex confirms the presence of water molecules. The most characteristic bands and their assignments are given in Table 2.…”
