Abstract: In the title compound, C24H48Br2, the molecule is centrosymmetric and the molecular skeleton including both terminal Br atoms has an all‐trans conformation. The molecules form layers with a thickness of c/2. These features are similar to the smectic CA phase of liquid crystals.
