Currently practical examination can't function as a 'practical technique ability evaluation', so there is a contradiction which even though a radiologist passed an examination for license, he has to complete a training course. To improve this problem, this study tried to deduce the most reasonable plan from the analysis of propriety of currently practical examination and what improvement points are. This conduct study was compared and analyzed the performance or practical examination of radiology from leading advanced countries within the samples of 634 radiologists, 56 professors of radiology. From the result of this study, it showed that radiology practical examination was difficult to be substituted by radiology clinical training since there were some critical differences between conditions of domestic and advanced countries. Therefore, the introduction of the radiology practical examination is inevitable and necessary. However the currently practical examination can't evaluate actual practical ability, so we could conclude that converting it into OSCE (objective structured clinical examination) form is essential. From now on, we should consider more about an in-depth study on types of advanced practical examination and how to suggest and present them in order to become an one of the advanced countries for radiologic technologist.
Dilution of the contrast agent by analyzing the change in the signal intensity during MR angiography in accordance with the viscosity and osmotic pressure minimizes the side effects, and improves the image quality. The contrast agent molarity changes by the dilution of the contrast agent in the blood, as it is injected, which leads to a change in signal intensity. Based on this principle, a phantom was prepared and experiments were performed. After the phantom experiment, a clinical experiment was conducted using the results of the phantom experiment. From November 2013 to January 2014, a group of patients were classified into diluted contrast agent (30 persons) and undiluted (30 persons), and the signal intensity of the cerebral vessels was compared. The signal intensity of the phantom according to the molarity of the contrast agent increased sharply from 0.0125 mmol, reached a peak at 20 mmol, and achieved equilibrium from 200 mmol. Based on the study results, the signal intensity of the blood vessels in the brain through were compared in a clinical experiment. All the brain vessels in the imaging range with diluting a high content of the gadolinium contrast agent showed high signal intensity. This result supports the phantom experiment and means that using the 500mmol diluted contrast agent is better than using 1000mmol undiluted contrast agent because it is easier to approach the 20mmol level needed to achieve the highest signal intensity. This study has significance in that it can minimize the high viscosity and osmotic pressure, which can cause side effects and improve the image quality using the method of the dilution rate.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems of low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of single-shot turbo spin echo(SS-TSE) by quantifying numerically decreased signal to noise ratio. Thirty five patients without brain disease underwent diffusion MRI in 3T scanner from July to October in 2015. Single shot echo planar imaging(SS-EPI) which is conventionally used in MRI was taken to compared SS-TSE in SNR of medulla oblongata. As a result, SNR of SS-TSE diffusion(b0=314.41±42.96, b1000=117.33±14.04) is than SS-EPI diffusion(b0=514.84±48.97, b=208.65±25.70) lower in b=0 image(38.9%) and b=1,000 image(43.8%). Thus, diffusion MR using SS-EPI of MS-EPI should be taken for diagnosis of disease in brain stem due to decreased SNR of diffusion using SS-TSE.Keyword: Diffusion weighted image, Single-shot turbo spin echo, Single-shot echo planar imaging, Signal to noise ratio, Brain stem
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
