Internet gaming is a booming market, and a growing number of individuals play computer games developed into Internet Gaming Addiction (IAD). While studies of Internet gaming addiction emerged, they outlined the negative consequences of excessive gaming, its prevalence, and associated risk factors. Adolescents with IAD showed dysfunctional coping strategies with problems in school and home and showed worse interpersonal relations; they have bad influence on physical and mental health. Only by understanding the factors associated with Internet gaming addiction can the phenomenon of Internet gaming addiction be understood comprehensively, and a more efficient way of intervention can be found. Due to the increased use of the Internet, IAD has attracted attention of researchers: they found out that mainly personality and psychosocial factors are associated with IAD. Researchers also explore the intervention for the treatment of IAD, such as pharmacological treatments, psychological treatments and educational treatments in which sports treatments and educational gaming treatments are newly treatments getting researchers' attention.
