Cross breeding of buckwheat plant in vitro was examined. Ratios of artificial fertilization in ovules from potted or in vitro flowers with pollens from potted or in vitro flowers were 96, 0, 2, and 0%, respectively. Cause of low fertilization ratios was not identified but preliminary experiment may suggest that the low fertilization was resulted in vitro. In vitro fertilized ovules could be grown and multiplied in vitro. In vitro cross breeding of buckwheat plant by flower induction in vitro, artificial pollination in vitro, the establishment of second generation in vitro and micropropagation of the Second generation plants in vitro were possible in the present research suggesting that whole cross breeding process can be completed in vitro. The second generation plants grown in potted soil could be fertilized and was normal in reproduction. The third generation plants were obtained in the same manner of the establishment of second generation plants from micropropagated second generation plants in vitro and micropropagated in vitro. The results suggested that successive cross breeding of buckwheat plants was possible in vitro. In vitro cross breeding in plants was suggested based on the present result.
