Современное производство биметаллических материалов широко использует среди прочих такой метод их получения как сварка взрывом. Особенно эффективно он используется для создания слоистых композитов из разнородных металлов, когда традиционные способы сварки (соединения) не работают из-за большой разницы в теплофизических и механических свойствах. В некоторых современных производствах требуются биметаллические соединения листов стали с большей, чем при плакировке толщиной алюминия. Однако при увеличении толщины метаемой (алюминиевой) пластины происходит и увеличение кинетической энергии отрыва, которая приводит к образованию микротрещин, а, следовательно, и к снижению прочности соединения. Проведены экспериментальные исследования серии биметаллических композитов сталь – алюминий, полученных сваркой взрывом при различных значениях толщины метаемой (алюминиевой) пластины, схем и параметров сварки. Обнаружена ограниченность влияния таких энергетических критериев успешности сварки как величина потерь кинетической энергии, а также энергия пластической деформации на принципиальную возможность получения качественного сварного соединения сталь – толстолистовой алюминий. На основе анализа стандартных критериев свариваемости, микроструктуры и фазового состава контактной области, а также механических свойств полученных сварных соединений, высказано предположение о критической роли давления остаточных продуктов детонации. Показана практическая возможность получения сваркой взрывом композиционного материала толстолистовой алюминий – сталь с прочностью соединения на отрыв плакирующего слоя более 100 МПа.
