В 1973 г. во время раскопок погребения женщины и ребенка в могильнике Ново-Ябалаклинский 1 (Республика Башкортостан, правобережье реки Демы), который относится к срубной культуре (третья четверть II тыс. до н. э.), был найден бронзовый ювелирный гарнитур. Он состоял из накосника и бляшек, собранных в цепочку, которая была атрибутирована как нагрудное украшение. На основании новых материалов по женскому костюму эпохи бронзы Урало-Казахстанских степей предлагается реконструкция ювелирного декора в виде лицевой подвески и накосного украшения к головному убору. В результате спектрального анализа С.В. Кузьминых рассматривает андроновское происхождение ювелирного комплекта и его импорт в среду носителей срубной культуры в результате обменных операций или брачных связей. Используя этнографические параллели о статусе головного убора в свадебном обряде, сделано предположение о символике «ябалаклинского» головного убора как свадебного. Орнамент на бляшках лицевой подвески – это вариации креста и зигзага. Они являются универсалиями в изобразительной архаике степных культур эпохи и отражают идеи охранной магии.
По народным поверьям Джучи-хан, старший сын Чингиз-хана, похоронен в мавзолее (Казахстан, Улытау). Мавзолей построен в стиле исламской архитектуры XIV в. В письменных источниках и легендах рассказывается о смерти Джучи на охоте на куланов. А.Х. Маргулан, исследовавший погребения мавзолея, на основании легенд и артефактов, предположил в нем захоронение Джучи-хана. Радиокарбонное датирование деревянных деталей из мавзолея определило этапы его строительства и дату позднего изготовления погребального ящика по сравнению с датой смерти Джучи в 1225 году. Накопление новых данных по архитектуре и обрядности позволило высказать версию о том, что погребение Джучи-хана отсутствует в мусульманском мавзолее. Сочетание исламских и доисламских черт в обрядности мавзолея могут свидетельствовать о погребении представителя рода Джучи, принявшего ислам. Мавзолей был назван в честь Джучи и до сих пор является местом поклонения его памяти.
