The article reveals the features and practical principles of providing psychological first aid to victims of hostilities. It was determined that first psychological aid includes a set of measures of general human and practical assistance to those who are in trouble or need such assistance. It has been established that for the effective provision of psychological first aid, it is important to follow the basic principles: be ready to provide psychological first aid; monitor personal safety and the safety of others, recognize those in need of immediate assistance and the satisfaction of basic needs, as well as victims who show signs of significant stress reactions; establish contact with those who may need support, clarify their needs and problems, actively listen and reassure; help victims meet their basic needs, access psychosocial services and overcome problems, etc. The combat shock response has been found to be the primary normal response to unusual stress resulting from combat operations. The following types of reaction to combat shock have been identified: mental shock, stupor, motor excitement, loss of self-control (rage), crying, hysteria, panic fear, nervous shock, helplessness, delusions and hallucinations. It was found that psychological first aid is intended to support those who have just been injured. It was found that it is important to provide psychological first aid during the first contact with people who are in trouble. It has been proven that the satisfactory results of psychological first aid are a change in a person's psychological state to a calmer and more positive one, more adequate reactions and behavior are observed, more rhythmic breathing is observed, and the body is less tense.
