Objective: to evaluate the clinical efficiency of eyelid cryotherapy with an autonomous titanium nicke lide cryoapplicator in patients with ocular rosacea regarding the dynamics of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines contents at local levels. Materials and methods. 65 patients with ocular rosacea were observed. Depending on the therapy received, the patients were divided into two groups: in the main group, eyelid cryotherapy was applied for 2 weeks with an autonomous cryoapplicator made of porous-permeable titanium nickelide, and in the reference group, the patients received a traditional treatment for a month. The contents of cytokines (IL-1β, IL-8, IFN-α, IL-2, IL-10) in lachrymal fluid was evaluated by ELISA on Days 3, 7 and 30 after treatment. Results. The opposite nature of cytokine balance changes and the ratio of its pro- and anti-inflammatory link during the follow-up period were revealed. A reliable dynamic increase of examined IFN-α and IL2 content in the lacrimal fluid after cryostimulation can evidence for an adequate activation of cellular immunity link, as well as for enhancement of regeneration mechanisms. Conclusion. The analysis of obtained data evidences for a high efficiency of clinical and immunological effect of lid cryotherapy using titanium nickelide cryoprobe for ocular rosacea treatment.
The aim – to evaluate the functional state of ocular adnexa and of the eyeball after cryodestruction of benign eyelid and conjunctiva tumors using modern cryosurgical equipment. Materials and methods. Into the study, 87 patients (87 eyes) were included with eyelid and conjunctiva benign tumors after cryosurgical treatment of atheroma, cyst, papilloma, nevus, granuloma, xanthelasma using an autonomous cryoapplicator of porous permeable titanium nickelide. Results and conclusions. The study showed a high efficacy of cryogenic treatment method using an autonomous cryoapplicator of porous permeable titanium nickelide. Depending on dimensions of the lesion, exposure duration, and the number of repeated applications at the session, the recovery occurred within 1–2 months without functional defect and healthy tissue injury.

Установлено, что достоверные изменения содержания цитокинов на локальном уровне являются отражением реактивности организма лабораторных животных как на оперативное вмешательство в области цилиарного тела, так и на его экспериментальную циклодеструкцию криоаппликатором из никелида титана. Выявлено преобладание провоспалительного потенциала цитокинов в ранние (3-7 сутки) сроки, и нормализация баланса про-и противовоспалительных цитокинов в поздние (30 суток) сроки наблюдения за счет усиления продукции противовоспалительного ИЛ10 с сохранением эффекта в отдалённые сроки исследования (1,5 года).G ключевые слова: цилиарное тело; криохирургия; никелид титана; лабораторные животные.G We assessed the level of pro-(IL1β, FNOα, IL2) and anti-inflammatory (IL10) cytokines in the anterior chamber fluid of experimental animals on the 3rd, 7th and 30th day, after an experimental ciliary body destruсtion with porous titanium nickelid cryoapplicator. Consistent changes of the cytokine content at the local level are reflecting the reactivity of the experimental animals as an answer both to surgery in ciliary body area, and to its experimental cyclodestruction using the cryoapplicator from titanium nickelid. The predominance of pro-inflammatory cytokines' potential was found during the early period (3-7 day), and the balance normalization of pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines was found at late observation period (30 days) due to the increase of the anti-inflammatory IL-10 production; this effect was maintained at the end of the long-term study period (1.5 years).G Key words: ciliary body; cryosurgery; titanium nickelid; experimental animals.
