The article is devoted to the peculiarities of teaching the educational discipline "Biological and bioorganic chemistry" on the basis of the department of Журнал «Перспективи та інновації науки» (Серія «Педагогіка», Серія «Психологія», Серія «Медицина») № 10(15) 2022 212 biological and medical chemistry of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU). The peculiarities of the introduction of distance learning into the system of medical education were highlighted, and an analysis of literary sources was carried out, which showed that this issue is insufficiently studied. The role, purpose and main tasks of the discipline "Biological and bioorganic chemistry" in the system of higher medical education, as one of the basic, theoretical disciplines, of the important ones in the preparation of medical specialties, are determined. The study of the academic discipline "Biological and bioorganic chemistry" is carried out by students in the 1st year and 2nd year. According to the curriculum, bioorganic chemistry is studied in the 1st year during the 2nd semester, biological chemistry is studied by students during the 3rd and 4th semesters of the 2nd year. The basic principles of the organization of distance learning for medical students are analyzed, in particular, the formation of practical abilities and skills, which are necessary for future doctors. An analysis of the current state of teaching methods was carried out, attention was focused on the need for a comprehensive assessment of students` knowledge. The methods of monitoring students' knowledge, skills and abilities of the academic discipline are characterized and a scheme for calculating and distributing points for modular controls is proposed. The role of independent work of students in a higher educational institution is defined. The importance of teaching the discipline "Biological and bioorganic chemistry" to medical students in various courses in a higher educational institution is emphasized. A necessary condition for the effective training of specialists is the rejection of the formal approach to teaching disciplines and the introduction of innovative methods and the latest learning technologies.
