The properties of the cladding modes of an optical fibre, excited by photoinduced long-period fibre gratings, were investigated by the near-and far-field methods. It is shown that the cladding modes considered are of the HE 1m type. A satisfactory agreement between the experimental and calculated distributions of the electromagnetic field of the modes is demonstrated. It was found that the propagation length of a cladding mode in the unperturbed fibre reaches 1 m.
Analytical formulas for the critical ionization field of the microwave driven H-atom are derived. Good agreement with measured ionization fields is obtained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
